US-NJ - Process Engineer - R & D
 

SUMMARY

Responsible for development, characterization and qualification of new wafer fab process technologies.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

bullet

Designs, develops and characterizes wafer fab processes for thin films metalization and dielectric deposition used in GaAs manufacturing.

bullet

Designs, develops and characterizes wafer fab process for wet and dry etching of thin films used in GaAs manufacturing.

bullet

Works with product segments to identify device/process specifications required by new product development.

bullet

Design and integrates new process flows for GaAs active and passive device technology development.

bullet

Designs test structures to characterize devices and wafer fab processes and establish process design rules.

bullet

Utilizes statistical methods to design experiments and analyze results.

bullet

Specifies, evaluates, acquires and qualifies wafer fab processing and metrology equipment.

bullet

Produces process documentation, operating procedure and process control plans.

bullet

Transfers newly developed process technologies to manufacturing and trains production personnel.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

BS/MS and 10 –12 years, PhD and 5+ years experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

  

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
